Jin in Chinese means something brilliant and beautiful

Ba Duan Jin is a group of Chinese stretches that has been around for hundreds of years, being perfected over the years so that it can be used for all age groups. It broken down into eight separate stretches, each focusing on a different physical areas. It has been proven to help with relaxation/stress management and even health issues. 

Two Hands Hold up the Heavens Center the body.

Drawing the Bow to Shoot the Hawk (or Vulture)- Focus on the kidneys and spleen.

Separate Heaven and Earth- Stimulate the stomach.

Wise Owl Gazes Backwards or Look Back- Stretch the neck.

Sway the Head and Shake the Tail- Regulate the function of the heart and lungs.

Two Hands Hold the Feet-  Strengthen the kidneys and waist.

Clench the Fists and Glare Fiercely- Increases general vitality and muscular strength.

Bouncing on the Toes- said to “smooth out” the qi after practice of the preceding seven pieces.
